This 90-day residential program is to be held at the iii from 3 May to 31 July 2010. It is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Isha meditators in the USA to truly transform themselves in the lap of the Master.

There was a decidedly different tenor to this event than other programs, as people weighed the gravity of this 90-day commitment for themselves; for their family, friends, colleagues, and for Sadhguru himself. This was a filtering process and a time for all to consider their personal situations, their family and financial responsibilities, before stepping into this. Participating would come at a great cost and everyone recognized that this would change their lives, but what motivated them to want this, and were they ready for it? Sadhguru asked everyone present to consider why they were there and what they hoped would happen during and after the completion of the 90-day program. This deep, inner looking resulted in almost as many responses as there were people present, with some admitting that they could find no “reasonable” answer. In the presence of a Master, one must face his own truth, and while this weekend was billed as an interview, it was really a “view inward,” a time for the stark truth of making this commitment. With clarity and firmness, Sadhguru helped those present identify the resistance in themselves and encouraged them to acknowledge the responsibilities that needed to be addressed before they could commit to Anaadhi.

Sadhguru related that the first 90-day program in India initially was taken up as part of the development of the Dhyanalinga, but that the experience became something other than they could have planned for. He explained that the Sanskrit word anaadhi means “beginningless.” Hence, what was being offered naturally is also endless, because something that does not have a beginning also cannot have an end. Once this spiritual process is on, there is just no stopping it.

Alongside with Anaadhi, Sadhguru is offering three-week Sadhana (spiritual practices towards inner growth) for Isha meditators in the US who are not able to come for the three months, so that they are still able to make use of the opportunity for their growth and wellbeing.

After being through some incredible sights, smells and tastes of West Asia, here I am at the 3 “i”s – Isha Institute of Inner Sciences. Some hard-core spiritual situation here. We are at Anaadhi (THE BEGINNINGLESS), a 90-day retreat for hard-core seekers. Anaadhi is about introducing people to a completely different level of sadhana and exploration. After sifting through close to 500 applications, we arrived at a little over 200 participants.

This is quite a stretch both physically and mentally. Above all, it demands extreme discipline. This type of sadhana and exploration probably has never happened in this part of the world till now – at least not to my knowledge. It is great to see American meditators gearing up to go through this; each one of them I am sure had to sacrifice something they value to be here. The hope is to build spiritually profound people with great strength, character, commitment and above all clarity. As a part of this, we are also having a 10-day Samyama program for 400 participants – served by a little over 25 volunteers. It is very touching to see how things are being done.<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; So you will have a kind of super technology with which you can get anything you want done - that is the whole idea of Devi worship. There is a huge culture of Devi worship here in India. Women think they are becoming free by becoming like men. This is the most horrible slavery, that a woman has to become like a man. Once the masculine mind dominates the world, anything that does not appeal to the reason will be destroyed; which is happening worldwide. Here in India also this is happening, but you cannot kill the Devi worship totally because it is too deep-rooted. There are still some hardcore people like me. People have still kept the feminine alive in them - there are many of them. But I think worship of the feminine being mainstream is over in the world. It will always be somewhere clandestine. That is one of the reasons Linga Bhairavi will take a corner. She is taking a corner, but she got a triangular temple because of that. The Linga Bhairavi temple is going to be in the southwestern corner of the Dhayanalinga complex. Linga Bhaira

vi will be a very fierce feminine force.

The Dhayanalinga is a very powerful energy form but he is made in such a way that he has no need to defend himself, so he does not defend himself. One form of Shiva is Bhole, that means he is simple minded; because he just gives to everybody

irrespective of who they are; how they will use him, misuse him - he doesn't care. That's how he is. Because of this nature, people would want to use it. For anybody who is practicing the occult, the Dhyanalinga is like a goldmine because occult practitioners have a certain type of sadhana through which they know how to make use of energy b

ut they do not know how to create it. This is why the occult has always involved sacrifice - they know how to use the energy but they do not know how to create it. So they destroy one life to use it the way they want it - that has always been their way. It would be boon for anybody who is into serious practice of occult to be in the presence of Dhayanalinga and do certain sadhana, and to use the energies for occult practices; but we would not like to encourage that.

In this generation, it will not happen, but in future it is possible that people who want to do occult practices and use these energies in so many different ways would want to take over the place; and they will be capable. They will be too diabolically calculative and they are very powerful manipulators; they could just take over the whole space to use for a completely different purpose. When you create such a big energy source, naturally they will be drawn towards it, and you cannot keep them out, because not all occult i

s necessarily negative. The occult can be a positive force. It all depends on who is using it and for what purpose.

So we want to create Linga Bhairavi as a space which will be open for the occult. We will open up that possibility. This may cause a certain amount o

f misunderstanding and disturbance in people around right now, but that does not matter. I have gotten used to live with misunderstanding, and misunderstanding will always be there. These are sciences; these are things that very few people in the world can do. So, we will establish this space when I am still around. These are things which will live for a very longtime, and these are things which people will cherish. This is not only for the occult. For people who are only seeking physical health and material wellbeing, Linga Bhairavi could be far more responsive. I o

nly hope the Linga Bhairavi temple will not be

come more crowded than the Dhyanalinga. She could be one more conduit. On the northern end of the outer parikrama, we created the Theerthakund as a conduit for people to experience the Dhyanalinga. People may find her more impactful than the Dhyanalinga itself because s

he will be very raw energy. The Dhayanlinga is subtle - it takes some amount of focus to feel it. But she will be so raw, nobody can miss it; very strong, raw power. In a way, she will be a kind of insurance for the Dhayanlinga on a long-term b

asis. If people want to do certain work, they can us

e Linga Bhairavi.

Why are we facilitating such things ? - Because I a

m not against anything in life; I am okay with everything. It is just that we have to counterbalance everything with something else. If we try to eradicate it, it will only grow. Right now, because of ecological pollution and other things that are happening, tomorrow, shall we pass a law to stop all the industry, buses and automobiles ? You think it is going to work ? We are saying, "Let's plant more tress." Actually, planting more trees is not a 100% solution; we are just delaying the process. If you take medicine that your doctor gives, you are not becoming immortal, you are only delaying death. That is how the whole life works.

You cannot eliminate those things from the world. They have been there for a very longtime. So, we are setting up a small corner where people can make use of this energy. And also for the devotees and meditators who come there, their life is not all spiritual. There are other aspects to their life. They have a family, they still have to struggle for their money, they have to fight for their professional wellbeing - there are so many things. For people, who are seeking physical and material wellbeing, these aspects are also available in the Dhyanalinga, but the Linga Bhairavi will cater to them a little better.

We do not want the Dhyanalinga to be a space to be used for any kind of personal pursuits, whatever they are. The Dhayanlinga, should be constantly kept as a spiritual space, not to be used for anything else. But people have other aspirations. It is not in me to decide and judge what somebody should be doing - it is upto them what they do. It is just that if they show an inclination, we are willing to help. If they do not have an inclination, they just want to enjoy the physicality of the world. I have no issue with that. It is up to them. Till they realise the limitation of what it is, let them go....

So, if you want health, wellbeing, prosperity - these kinds of things are very strong in the Linga Bhairavi energy. People who imbibe it can benefit from it that way. And she has a spiritual possibility also. Especially for those who are emotionally bound, the devotee kind of people, Linga Bhairavi will become a stronger attachment. It will give them a stronger sense of emotional connection than the Dhyanalinga because the Dhyanalinga doesn't really respond to your emotions. He only respond to your energy. He is just on all the time. That is the most wonderful way to do things but people have their limitations and inclination. So Linga Bhairavi can become a powerful force.

She will be fierce and powerful. What level of consecration to go for depends on many factors, especially the kind of support that will be there. When we did the Dhyanalinga conscration, we were doing this with time, space and certain kind of compulsions. There was very minimal support and a huge amount of resistance and struggle in the social situation around us. Now we have a much larger support base, both socially and otherwise. There are lots of suitable people around. If the situation allows, we would include a large group of people and make it happen. Otherwise, it could be done in stages, involving a small group and then a little larger group for peripheral work.

There is no question of ritualistic consecration. It is bound to be energy work. It will again be mercury-based linga. But will it be like the Dhyanalinga ? No. The kind of consecration we will do for Linga Bhairavi will need maintenance to keep it vibrant. She will not be like Goddess Kali - she will not ask for blood on daily basis. She will be consecrated in a different way. Because there is rasa - mercury is refered to as rasa - she will not need any outside help, but still she will need some maintenance. The Dhyanalinga does not need any maintenace. If for thousand years nobody enters the temple, after thousand years, it will still be the same. It will not drop even a notch. But if we consecrate Linga Bhairavi, it will not be like that. It can sustain itself for a certain period but after that it will dissipate.

There are many levels of consecration that can be done. One thing is consecrating the idol and making it powerful; that we will anyway do. Another is creating a form like this and letting it loose, so that people can seek it wherever they are. There are many forms like this, which at different times in history, people created and let loose, and even today people are making use of them. In India, there are many many examples - people call for a certain goddess and she actually appears for them. Most of these goddess were created in terrible forms. She appears to them in that form and things happen.

One example that is fairly well-known is Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Ramakrishna used to call Kali and she would come. He would actually feed her and she would eat. The plate would become empty. It was the real form, because these forms were created long ago. These are not just dolls that are created for the psychological wellbeing of a person. These are energy forms, which have been created and let loose. If you know how to bring them down, you can bring them down right here, like a live thing.

If we want to go for that level of consecration, it will involve a lot more. A new goddess will become alive. Making her alive in one form, here in the idol is one level of consecration. Making her truly alive, not in just this form, so that simply she is there, is something else. We could also establish a method that can be imparted to people, through which they can bring down that particular form into their lives. That will take a lot more. That is the kind of work I must be doing. around you – when I say the world, I mean the human part of the world around you – you will see your experience is a cacophony of voices, thoughts and emotions. These voices, thoughts and emotions are all an outpouring of confusions of many different levels and states. With a very distorted perception of the current reality, these voices, thoughts and emotions are formed and expressed. When man is in this level of confusion, when he is subjugated by the misconceptions or the wrong perception of reality around him, the noise that he creates around himself, the pain and suffering that he creates for himself and the people around him and to all other life forms around him is very unfortunate.

With all the conveniences and facilities we have because of science and technology individual man and humanity has still remained an absolute confusion, an absolute mess. All the noises that he is making in the form of his thoughts and emotions, if you look at it, if you really are little sensitive to feel people’s thoughts and emotions around you, you’ll see it is an absolute mess, it is an absolute confusion.

That is the reality that you see today. There is no clarity in him. Nor any will or vision. Most people in the world live their lives without even understanding what is it that they really want for themselves. Or even if they know what they want, they neither have the will nor the vision to create what they want in their lives. Most of the time just settling for whatever is easy, whatever they term as attainable, whatever is within their reach, they settle for anything if they feel it is easy.

If something is easily attainable, people go for it. Not really seeing whether they really need it in their lives or not. It is easily attainable, that is the whole thing. And at any given moment in life if we go by the experience of our past or in other words if you trust your mind – trust your logical mind to decide what is possible, what is not possible, what is attainable, what is not attainable, then it will always tell you mediocre things as to what is possible.

We are always trying to create our life based on the current reality that exists around us at this moment. This moment whatever may be with us is not the point. Where we want to go tomorrow need not be connected to where we are right now. What we want as the highest in life, it need not have anything to do with our present situation. If we enslave our visions to current situations, then it is once again settling for what is attainable, what is easy, what you think is possible. It is not in terms of thinking what is possible or not possible. It is just in terms of seeing what is your vision, what is the highest that you can seek in your life.

If man has a vision of what he wishes to do with himself and the world around him, it is not beyond man’s capacity to create it. It may happen in this lifetime, it may take a couple of lifetimes but what we want will definitely come. For that person, for whom his vision of life is clear to him and he just seeks it every moment of his life, for him, the highest things will come and fall at his feet. It is only because man is a bundle of confusion, it is only because man is most of the time seeking what he doesn’t want – things that he really wants never come to him. This lack of vision and will in his life is fundamentally because of a distorted understanding of the world around us.

What you know as the highest, you just seek that. It doesn’t matter whether it is going to happen or not going to happen, simply living with the vision itself is very elevating, is itself very liberating, is itself a very joyous process for any person. Whether it is going to happen tomorrow or after hundred years is not the point. But you have a vision and you are not concerned about whether it is possible or not possible. You are not concerned whether it is easy or difficult, you are not concerned whether it is attainable or non-attainable, or in other words, you are not concerned about the result in the end. It is just that you have a vision and you give your life towards it. This is one of the easiest ways to attain the highest also. The whole Gita is just about this – to simply give yourself to what you want, not caring whether it is going to happen or not going to happen. It is a spiritual process by itself.

Vision is an important way of transcending limitations within and outside ourselves. If one wants to live here without any vision, without being burdened by visions, without being burdened by will, then that person should be absolutely innocent. Absolutely. Such a person can simply live here. He need not live with a vision. He does not need a vision. He does not have to have a will about anything, that is if he is absolutely egoless and childlike. And if it is not so, it is very important that man lives with a vision.

There have been many stories, many examples in the Indian culture. Certain sages and saints, once they willed, even gods had to come down and do things for them. There are many stories like this. Lord Shiva cannot help it if a man sits here with complete will and vision that he wants Shiva to come down. He has to come down – he has no choice about it. There are many stories like this. So all these things demonstrate to you that if what you want is very clear to you and if you are set on it, what seems to be impossible today, tomorrow becomes a normal part of your life. Without any fuss it falls at your feet. But at every moment logically if you question this and think in terms of “Is it attainable or not attainable”, then the confusion that you create in your mind, the confusions that you create in the world around you makes the world itself into a big confusion.

It is time to really create a vision within ourselves as to what is it that we really care for, not just for today. If you look deep enough your vision will be the universal vision. Really in terms of being a human being, what is the highest that you can seek and simply creating that vision. Whether everything else happens or doesn’t happen on the way is not the point. Whatever you have known as the highest – simply seeking that with undivided attention – that is a way of knowing life here and beyond. It is a simple way of knowing life here and beyond

I just brought jaggi into my mind. My mother written some beautiful poem against sadhguru and composed herself. It comes as a beautiful song. Whatever we want to tell everything that this lyrics do.

And then my brother sang a song 'Pitchai Pathiram'. O!!! it is another heart melting song. As the bus was too hot we couldn't sleep. Then once we reached coimbatore that chillness made us to sleep.

We came to registration place. Earlier i thought how asharam going to manage 12000 people. No doubt, They can do even it is Triple. The registration place told everything how they have arranged the thing properly.

Only place in the world that teaches Humanity, Spirituality, Yoga, Punctuality, Planning, Silence, Love, Life .....everything. This is the place where you can learn what is joy without anything.

Then we took nice bath, morning meditation, nice Sambar rice. Went to Dyanalinga the divine place.

They have announced satsang will be started at 5.30PM. Temperature was too high. As people wanted to see Sadhguru very close they stand in the queue before 3PM. God! We stayed just opposite to the Home school Playground where the satsang happening. Queue crossed the spanda Hall. So i don't to stand in the queue. I know we feel the vibration wherever we are sitting. Even we no need to see him.

He came!!!!!

you know all, how the feeling. He said we have only our hand to give sadhguru we don't have even a single money.

One lady stood and asked her husband permission and gave her Tali chain Immediately. Everybody started to surrender their gold. Included my mom and aunty.

So i just understood their feelings towards Sadhguru. Great people. Great Heart.

Final day Sadhguru came meditation, joke etc. Cultural for an hour. We all dance together. Even a 60 years Grandma also danced.

I enjoyed each and every moment.
In Kotagiri, one of the picturesque hill stations of the Nilgiri Hills, volunteers arranged to give the best reception for the Anandha Alai Sathsang with Sadhguru, for which more than 2000 were expected to assemble. Two days of incessant rain failed to dampen spirits as, beneath an overcast sky, ebullient volunteers bustled to prepare the venue. The welcome committee was formed of about 80 volunteers in traditional Badaga1 attire.
Coincidentally, guru poojas were underway, at the Sadhguru Sri Brahma ashrams in the nearby villages of Naduvatti and Yedapalli. Meditators and residents of Isha Yoga Center, on way to the Sathsang, stopped by and the rain and hail evoked joyful dancing.
While dark thunderclouds hung over the whole area, just above Kotagiri where the Sathsang with Sadhguru was about to take place, the sky was blue. The villagers who for the past 88 years have kept the tradition alive to honor Sadhguru Shri Brahma on this particular day with their very own Guru Pooja, saw this extraordinary phenomenon as Sadhguru’s way of blessing the occasion.

After a half hour live concert by the Sounds of Isha, the participants did their Shambhavi practice. Soon, Sadhguru was in their midst, on the dais.
In the reverberating atmosphere, Sadhguru spoke about creating the wave of bliss (Anandha Alai); stating that, generally, “joy is treated as abnormal and misery is normal.” To quote: “Somebody who hurts himself, won’t he hurt another person also?” and “If you have not experienced tears of bliss, you life has not started.”
Sadhguru said, “You cannot determine the circumstances you live in; but, you can decide how to be in any circumstance that you are in.” He further emphasized that pleasantness or blissfulness is not a teaching but the yearning of every life and that the meditators had been empowered for this purpose with the Shambhavi Maha Mudra.
Sadhguru elaborated on the uniqueness of Indian culture, how spirituality was different from communism, peace, social realities and how an individual can use every situation to grow, within. He said: “So what if God is loving? If we are loving, it is nice for us.”
Somehow, whatever he spoke, you could almost hear the voices: “Isn't that true? Why didn't I think of this earlier?” Asked about the Sadhguru Sannidhis, he explained the science behind these sacred spaces which can be established in Isha meditator’s homes. Each house should be as an ashram and yoga should happen as a way of life. The ashram, he explained, is a place where every circumstance is used for inner growth. “If so, every situation will be like a prasadam.”
The Sathsang ended in a fervor of music and dance that vibrated and resonated across and around long after the Master departed. The currents and undercurrents of bliss were palpably alive and deeply moving.

A spiritual process is neither an invention, nor something that you create. It is just a life process, which has unfortunately remained beyond common perception. It is the work of a guru to take a person from one dimension of life to another.

Right now, the only things that are in your experience are your body, your mind, and your emotions. You know them to some extent, and you can infer that if these three things have to happen the way they are happening, there must be energy that makes them happen. Without energy these were not possible.

Today modern science is proving that everything you know as life, everything that you know as existence, as cosmos, as galaxies is just an energy that is manifesting itself in millions and millions of ways. The whole process of yoga is about bringing this experiential reality into every human being. When I say yoga, I am not referring to any one particular practice or system. Yoga is the oneness in the existence. Either you can simply go at it with the strength of your emotion, or you can approach it systematically so that you find result as soon as possible. Or in other words, if everything is just one energy, the difference between a rock and a human being is just a question of subtleness of energy. Though it is the same, it is in different levels of subtleness. When it is very gross we call it a rock, when it is in its utmost subtleness, we call it divine.

Positions of energy

To know and experience this divinity means evolving our energies to higher possibilities, and evolving our energies to subtler dimensions within ourselves. If your energies are in muladhara, food and sleep will be the main qualities in your life. If your energies moves into swadhistana, then you are a pleasure seeker, you want to enjoy the world in so many ways. If your energies move into manipuraka you are a doer in the world, you are always doing something. If your energies move into anahatha, you become a very creative person. If your energies move into vishuddhi, you become a very powerful being. If your energies move into agna, then you are intellectually fully enlightened. You have attained peace. When your energies move to sahasrar, you will burst into ecstasy, unexplained ecstasies for which there are no external reasons.

From muladhara to agna, there are many ways. There are many systems through which you can move your energies to agna, but from agna to sahasrar, there is no way. There is no path. There is no particular way to do this; it is just a jump. It is because of this, that so much stress has been laid on the guru-shishya relationship. The master-disciple relationship has been held as the most sacred relationship in this culture because of this jump. If you have to take this jump you need deep trust on the guru.

Now let us say that you wish to go to Kedarnath right now. Somebody is driving; the roads are laid out. If you go alone and there is no proper direction, definitely you would wish there was a map to tell you how to get there. Similarly, on one level, a guru is just a map. He is a live map. If you can read the map, you know the way, and thus can go for your destination. A guru can also be like your bus driver. Even if you fall off to sleep in die bus, the driver would take you to Kedarnath, but to sit in this bus and doze off, or to sit in this bus joyfully, you need to trust the driver. If every moment, with every curve on the road, you go on thinking, "will this man kill me? Will this man go off the road? What intention does he have?" then you will go mad sitting in the bus. Similarly, a guru needs your trust; if there is no trust you will drive yourself mad.

Unconscious & Conscious Trust

This is not just for sitting in a bus or going on a spiritual journey. To live on this planet, you need trust. Right now, you trust unconsciously. Let us say you are sitting in a bus, which is just a bundle of nuts and bolts and pieces of metal. But unknowingly, you trust this vehicle so much, isn't it? You have placed your life in the hands of this mechanical mess, which is just nuts and bolts, rubbers and wires. You have placed your life on it, because you trust the bus unconsciously. The same trust, if it arises consciously, would do miracles to you. When we say trust, we are not talking about anything new in life. To be here, to take every breath in and out, you need trust. Your trust is unconscious. I am only asking you to bring a little consciousness to your trust. It is not something new. life is trust, otherwise nobody can exist here.

So, if you can draw your own map, if you can drive your own bus, it is wonderful. But on an uncharted path, if you go without a map, it may take a lifetime to find a certain place. But if you go with a map you can find your destination easily.

Suryahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15031154457022380648noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3693840811093899945.post-69785836580159949892009-06-16T12:40:00.000+05:302009-06-16T13:36:55.501+05:30SADHGURU AT IPL:
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; The initial goal was to attract around 2000 meditators – and that was what the organizers went ahead and planned for. Only a week later, when Sadhguru inquired about the developments, the coordinators updated him proudly that the registrations had reached 2000 participants for each of the Sathsangs, that all arrangements have been made and registrations have now been closed. Much to their surprise, Sadhguru exclaimed that such an opportunity is available once in lifetimes and it would be a crime to deny anyone from being present during those days. And so the registrations reopened and for both Sathsangs altogether no less than 10,000 people were expected – and these expectations were met.

For days on end, the whole Isha Yoga Center was getting equipped to be able to accommodate such numbers. From temporary sheds to outdoor dining arrangements to a large temporary kitchen and a huge ground to host the event, residents and volunteers worked day in and day out to make things happen. On 24 April, the opening day of the English Sathsang, as the participants rolled in, soon a vibe of excitement prevailed.

Everything from accommodation allotment to seating arrangements went on like clockwork, and by <st1:time minute="0" hour="18">6 pm</st1:time>, all were seated and an expectant silence prevailed throughout Spanda Hall garden. As Sadhguru appeared, the roaring drums of Sounds of Isha filled the air, accompanied by a vibrant fire dance performed by Brahmacharis.

Sadhguru began the Sathsang by reminding the sacredness of the Velliangiri Mountains and their significance to Isha, since Sadhguru’s Guru had graced these mountains. [Laughs] He could have told me… But everything he wanted to tell me, he put it upon the peak of this mountain, so it is very sacred to me."

Sadhguru also fulfilled the promise that he had made on the last Mahashivarathri when he had announced that soon he would be telling the story of why these sacred mountains have come to be known as "Kailash of the South" [see textbox].

Sadhguru then conducted a guided mediation, leading the participants through a series of moods andemotions, culminating with devotion. "Every emotion, every experience that you go through in your life is after all your making. If only you could be conscious that anyway it is your making, you would definitely choose the sweetest way to be. Devotion is not only the sweetest way to be, it is also the highest form of intelligence" Sadhguru concluded.

A special video was put together for the occasion, in which the story of the Isha Yoga Center and the Dhyanalinga consecration was narrated through the sharing of various meditators, emphasizing the fact that the whole foundation was built and still goes on to evolve on the strength of people’s devotion, commitment, dedication and willingness to give whatever is needed to make the ultimate happen for themselves and everyone else.

This set a strong mood for the remaining days when people were able to experience the preciousness of what was being offered and the great possibility that Sadhguru, the Dhyanalinga, the Isha Yoga Center and

Isha Foundation hold.

Over the next two days, an amazing atmosphere of spiritual intensity was created. The participants met every morning at dawn to witness Guru Pooja and do their practices together. An early morning Sathsang with Sadhguru was nothing short of a dream finally lived for many – and each day’s sunrise symbolized the new beginning which was being established.

Through the processes and meditations, it was clear that Sadhguru was putting his full being into each individual, and thus unraveled the significance of such an event and what a rare privilege it was to be in the presence of such an immense source of divinity whose endeavor is to make each and every single human being experience the ultimate within themselves. And as if that were not enough,

Sadhguru stepped down from the dais for one of the processes and walked through the crowd, who were left intoxicated with the wave of compassion that he spread.

So much can be said and described about these few days, but the most significant thing and the memory that will always remain is the overwhelming response that the Sathsangs generated, with people clearly surrendering to the Grace of Sadhguru and giving themselves totally to every process, every word and every moment that was lived throughout these three days.

The awareness about the value of what is being offered by Sadhguru in a sense of total giving, opened the hearts and minds of the participants and many contributed to whatever extent possible for them towards the enormous costs of this event which was free for all, and towards making the Dhyanalinga Yogic Temple expansion happen in the lines of Sadhguru’s vision. It was overwhelming to see meditators offering whatever they could.

The Sathsang participants were introduced to various aspects of Isha Foundation and its projects, namely the Ishaanga concept, an opportunity for Isha meditators to become limbs of Sadhguru by spreading the message of Isha Yoga (anga in Sanskrit means "limb"). Those who wish to dedicate themselves towards this can submit their application form and will undergo a two- to three-day-long training to become an Ishaanga.

If thousands of us Isha meditators commit ourselves towards this goal, we can definitely make it happen. The Master is with us.

These events (I continue to use the word because of the lack of a better alternative in my woefully inadequate vocabulary of English) change something at the core of you. The “you” that you don’t even know forget getting to understand. Something to that effect happened to me yesterday. Though it happened yesterday I had like to believe that it was some sort of a cumulative blast of all these days that I thought I was alive.

As you know, I did my Yoga class again this June. But this time round there was a grand climax to the class. All the participants would get to meet Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev [To know more about him, click here] in a Maha Sathsangh on Sunday, June 22 2008. Though I call it climax, this was not a climax to an end but a climax to an all new beginning. Since I had done the class I was also there at the Maha Sathsangh appropriately titled “Ananda Sangham”.

It started at 6.00PM or so. We started our Yoga practices in unison. Imagine around 8,000 people doing Yoga together and chanting “Aum” at once. The vibrations that I felt was a divine experience! As we finished, Sadhguru appeared clapping to the tunes of ‘Sounds of Isha’ - Isha Foundation’s own musical band. All of us stood up and tried getting as close as we could to catch a view of Sadhguru but I guess I was outdone by the pace of others. Though I went up and near I found I did not have a place to squat, so I came back to roundabout the same place I was before. And this was the last row of the gathering. I sat down with my legs stretched out. Araam se!

Sadhguru started with the story of his great grandmother who lived for 114 years and who he met only during his summer vacations. This was when he was in his early teens. His great grandmother renounced the world and family and left for her vanaprastha at the age of 69. She built a small temple on someone else’s land and lived there despite her family owning thousands of acres of ancestral land that left her family members wondering what she was upto. She used to come back to her ancestral home whenever Sadhguru and his cousins came for vacation and stay for a while. During this period Sadhguru observed that she used to do lot of the so-called crazy stuff. She would feed half of her meal to the ants in the house and watch with tears of happiness flowing down her eyes as they ate what she offered. She would go into the Pooja room and laugh loudly, cry with happiness, offer flowers to the Gods through her feet and do all kinds of stuff that people labeled her as a crazy woman. Nobody ever understood what was happening. Whenever Sadhguru approached her and asked her to explain her actions she would apparently let out a loud laugh and say nothing else. Sadhguru always wondered at the large-heartedness of his great grandmother. How could she give away half of what she was supposed to eat to the ants?

“Here I am with a few marbles that I cannot part with. Even when friends asked me for those marbles I would give them with great reluctance and maintain accounts at the same time. I would ensure I had it recorded somewhere, even if its only in my brain, that to whom I have given how many marbles. And in front of me is a lady who cries with happiness donating half of what she is supposed to eat to the ants! How is that?”, wondered Sadhguru. And as usual whenever he asked her anything about any of her actions, the only response he ever remembered getting was loud laughter. Sadhguru never quite got to the bottom of it considering that she died at the ripe old age of 114 years that too because she was fighting cancer for the last couple of years. Cancer affected her due to the habit of chewing tobacco leaves that she caught on from the age of 24 or so.

“This does not mean that if you chew on tobacco leaves, you will live for 90 years. [Laughs] Imagine the number of years she would have lived had she not chewed on those leaves”, said Sadhguru to which the crowd responded through loud applause. Sadhguru wanted to drive home the point of offering yourselves completely to whatever you do. It did not matter what you did. Even feeding a few ants would then become such an act of pleasure that anything in this life could be made joyful. In fact life is joyful

Being joyful is the fundamental position of a human being. Shambhavi Maha Mudra [Link] is a powerful process of immeasurable antiquity. Sadhguru said that it (the Mudra) was being used in an elite circle of Yogis and enlightened people till now because they did not want such a powerful technique to get into the hands of the common man as it might be used for the wrong purposes. But he has apparently toned it down into a capsule and administered it into us so that we can attain happiness out of it for sure but if and when we try to misuse it, it will not work. That’s they way he has built the course.

“For most of you, the happiness from the Mudra might not be evident as yet but then the seed has been planted. The seed will grow into a plant and a tree if you provide the right conditions for it to grow. The conditions have been taught to you in the class. If you do not provide the right conditions for the seed to grow then it will be equivalent to keeping the seed on a rock. Nothing will happen. If you try to use the positives arising out of the Mudra for foretelling the future or something like that it won’t happen because that is the way it has been designed”, said Sadhguru. “If you have a problem doing the practices twice a day for 40 days and then atleast once a day for 6 months, then do it twice a day for the entire six months!”, he concluded to a rapturous applause.

Then it was question and answer session. We were given chits of paper on which we could write down whatever questions we had for Sadhguru to answer before the program started. People had different kinds of questions to which Sadhguru had quick, intelligent and most importantly un-redoubtable answers. One question and answer I remember very clearly was this:

Q: Sadhguru, how do we get over the death of a dear one?
A: [Sadhguru breathes in and out heavily and asks] “What is this? Life? Right?”
[Sadhguru breathes out once and stops for a while before asking] “What is this? Death? Right?”
“Now, someone or the other is dying in my family on a daily basis. What should I do about it? You don’t understand? This universe full of people is my family. How should I get over it? Get over what? You mean to get over the fact that the body, mind and emotions that you recognised the person by is no longer here, right? But when you could feel all of that of that person what did you do with that? The very fact that you want to get over it means that there is something that you did not do for the person which you ideally wanted to do when the person was alive. Do you know what that means? The person died but is alive inside you.

Everything happening in this world is happening where? Inside you. Am I right? I am talking here, where is it happening? Inside you. The tree is there but where is it actually? In your eyes, again inside you, right? You know all that nonsense of light falling on that image is getting reflected and creating an inverted image on your retina that is being read by your mind and shown to you in the way that it is, right? So where is everything happening? Where is the world? Inside you. Whatever is happening here is actually happening inside you. The moment it comes into your experience the world is inside you. So where is death of a dear one happening? Inside you?

This January when I was at the World Economic Forum, there was this nonagenarian lady who came upto me and narrated her experience. As a 13 year old she was from some part in Europe that was being conquered by Hitler and they were systematically exterminating the Jews and other people as well. It was at a time when her parents had disappeared, assumed dead, and she was left with her 8 year old brother at the railway station for around 4 to 5 days waiting for a train that would take her somewhere. As soon as they got on to the train, she noticed that her kid brother was not wearing shoes. He had missed it somewhere. The temperatures there are freezing cold. She got enraged and wrenched her brother’s ears for not wearing his shoes and scolded him almost throughout the journey. The boy did not respond even a single line. As the train reached its destination the boys and the girls were separated and taken away to their respective camps for extermination. The girl survived the camp and came out alive after 4 or 5 years and never saw her brother again.

To this day she remembers this incident with lot of emotions. But she said that she made an important decision from then. The last thing that she ever gave her brother was admonishment and hence whoever she met from that day on she spoke to them as if it was the last word she would ever speak to them. Please see how you interact with people at home, neighbours, colleagues, people on the road and others. Imagine if it was the last word you would ever speak to them and speak to them from now on. How would you speak? Would you still speak the same way or would there be a change in the way you spoke to them? In fact it is a reality. Look at it - you are here now, I am speaking to you. Is there any gaurantee that you will be here next moment or tomorrow? Not that I want all of you to die or disappear suddenly, in fact I wish and pray that all of you lead long and happy lives [folds his hands in prayer], but can you gaurantee me that you will be alive the next moment for me to speak to you?

Now the reason that you want to get over the death of a dear one is because somewhere deep down you feel you have not done or said something that you ideally wanted to do for the departed. Now that the person has departed you feel you have lost the opportunity of doing whatever you wanted to do. Imagine if you spoke and lived as if it was the last time you ever saw the person. Would there be any reason for you to get over death at all?

While doing this program, Anandha Alai, two of my volunteers have had an accident and have broken their skulls and died. Two others of my family, very loved ones, very dear ones have passed away recently. If we have done whatever we wanted to do for them then we continue to live joyously, right? We don’t have to let sadness affect us because they have passed away. We can be joyful and happy when our conscience is clear”

There were many other questions and answers. This one answer particularly created a deep imprint. There were questions on how to move my body energies from one chakra to another and many other topics that Sadhguru handled with typical elan and wit. The Q&A session ended by 8.45PM or so. I have no idea about the timings because I did not carry a watch with me. I did not want any distractions while I was with Sadhguru. Sadhguru asked us all to stand up and sing along with him. He sang a song in the praise of Lord Shiva and we sang along. Then ‘Sounds of Isha’ took over and played some soulful music. And Sadhguru was walking off the stage while saluting all of us. As he came to the edge of the stage he stopped and turned. The music was playing all along. He was still saluting us, but this time round his expression seemed to be more serious. This routine, of Sadhguru walking upto the edge of the stage and returning to the center, repeated itself again and by the fourth time I was close enough to the stage to see tears streaming down Sadhguru’s eyes. Sadhguru had tears streaming down his eyes, uncontrollably, and his hands were tied in an eternal namaskaram. Seeing him like that something happening inside me. I went into a daze. He finally walked off the stage after around ten minutes on the stage. (Any reference to absolute time or period of time is absolutely a figment of imagination. I have no idea how long anything took)

In the same dazed state, I too walked off. I sensed that ‘Sounds of Isha’ had continued their music and there were people dancing blissfully to it. But in my daze, my feet took me to the chappals stand. My chappals were exactly where I had left them! Imagine 8,000 people and still your chappals have not even moved in their position by an inch! I was amazed that in this daze I could actually analyze something to this extent. And walked to the parking lot. All the way I was looking only one way - down at my feet. I didn’t look at anyone else or anything else. This I realised only later.

As I reached the parking lot and got to my bike I broke down. I cried uncontrollably. Tears came out as if they were just waiting for years to come out. I had no idea why I was crying. At the same time as I was crying my mind was telling me, “Adi, what is this? why are you crying? this is a public place. stop crying. don’t be a fool”. I had no idea what was happening to me. Initially I tried to stop the tears and the crying, I was hugely unsuccessful. I did not know if it was the effect of anything at all. I do not know, even now, why I cried. I just cried. It kept coming. There was no way of stopping it. Then my mind realised it knew how to stop me from crying. It asked me to call my wife and tell her that I was on my way back home. I realized that was not such a good idea later.

I picked up my phone from inside my bag. I remember seeing the time then as 9:23PM and all the timings you see here are a reverse calculation from here. I called my wife.

Me: “Hello”
My voice broke.

My wife: “Hello, hello, hello….”

Me: “It’s me Aditya speaking”
Wife: “What’s wrong? Your voice does not seem alright”
I broke down completely. I was sobbing uncontrollably again. And at the same time, since it was a parking lot and had rained the day before, a enfield bullet guy fell down as he was taking his bike out. I went forward to help him, all this while I am sobbing uncontrollably. I lift his bike up and he leaves.

Me: “I will come home and speak”
Wife: “Hope everything is alright?”
I don’t remember if I answered the question or not. Because I do not know, even now - after almost a day has passed, if everything was alright.

I got on to my bike and started driving home. On the way tears just kept streaming down my cheeks. My helmet was completely wet by the time I reached home. It was a good 20 to 25 minutes drive. And nothing seemed to stop my tears. I assumed that once I get back home I had be normal.

I got back home. I picked up my 14 month old son and sat down on a chair while he was on my laps . My wife came and sat down next to me near my legs in a very concerned manner. She knew something was wrong but was not sure whether to broach the topic or not in front of the kid. The kid would get disturbed to see his father sobbing like a child. But I guess she could not control and asked, “So, how was it? What happened there?”

I started my reply with something I don’t quite remember but broke down midway again. This was shocking. Tears again. My son was thankfully looking at the Sun TV music that was playing loudly. He loves that music. My wife said, “Ok stop now. Don’t cry in front of him. He will get scared”. I don’t know if I understood what she said but nevertheless I controlled it somehow. As I went to change my dress, I found tears coming. And I guess that was the last instance I saw of it. Then we sat down for dinner and it was all fine. Post dinner I watched Star Movies that was playing “Rang De Basanti” which is one of my all-time favourite movies and I slept after that.

I am going to leave this post untitled because I don’t know what I can call this experience. Something inside me changed for sure. I am not trying to analyze why the tears came or why I cried or what happened. It just happened and that’s the truth. I wanted to share my experience with all of you and hence the blogpost. It might sound like just another story when you read it on this blog, I know that and despite that I am posting it here because I wish and pray that everyone in this world goes through an experience that is so deep that putting it down in words becomes impossible. I want to end this post with my utmost gratitude to Sadhguru. I am yours Sadhguru. If you can attain an inner peace that’s undisturbed by external disturbances, you’ve achieved that state.”

Plus, they’re essentially pragmatic in their approach and can be easily integrated into daily life, consisting of a combination of meditation, pranayama and simple postures, which is why they are conducted at major corporates such as TCS , CTS,Wipro etc,.

The Isha Yoga Centre, located on 150 acres in the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains in Coimbatore, is part of the Isha Foundation, a non-profit organization that has initiated social projects such as Action for Rural Rejuvenation, Isha Education and Project Green Hands. For a chance to get to know the founder of the foundation better, participants of the ‘Ananda Alai’ programmes can attend a sathsang(Communication with Truth) with the Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev on June 21 (in English) and June 22 (in Tamil), where he will give a discourse and then conduct an interactive question and answer session with the audience.

The Chennai Ananda Alai was come to an end on 22nd June. Right from childhood, Vasudev was quite different from the others. At the tender age of thirteen years, he started yogic practices, like Pranayams and Asanas, under the guidance of Shree Raghavendra Rao (Malladihalli Swami). He completed his graduation from the Mysore University of Karnataka. When Vasudev was twenty-five years old, he witnessed an unusual incident that led him away from the material things in life and towards renunciation.

One afternoon, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev went to the Chamundi hills and sat on a rock with his eyes wide open. Suddenly, he had an out of body experience. He felt as if he was not in his body anymore, rather spread out everywhere, in the rocks, in the trees, in the earth. By the time he came back to his senses, it was already evening. In the days that followed, Vasudev experienced the same situated again, a number of times. Whenever, he underwent such an experience, he went without food and sleep for the next three or four days.

This episode entirely changed his way of life. Jaggi Vasudev decided to dedicate his entire life to the sharing of those experiences. In the year 1992, the guru and his followers founded the Isha Yoga Center and Ashram. It is situated at the foothills of the sacred Velliangiri Mountains at Poondi, near Coimbatore. The center is spread over an area of 50 acres and houses a massive 13 ft Dhyanalingam, a meditation shrine. There is also a multi-religious temple inside the complex, which was completed in 1999.

It is said that the Dhyanalingam has curative powers and bestows well being and prosperity. Since it is a meditation shrine, it is believed to be reservoir of energies from the people who have meditated there. People can sit inside the Dhyanalingam and meditate for as much time as they want. Isha Yoga Center also houses the Isha Foundation. Started by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the foundation administers more than 25 yoga centers, a medical center and an orphanage in India, apart from three yoga centers in the United States.

Suryahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15031154457022380648noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3693840811093899945.post-52439505811201901682008-05-21T16:23:00.003+05:302010-06-10T18:56:48.478+05:30ONE AND ONLY GURU

hi frnds and all

i would like to bring the details about my only guru sadhguru jaggi vasudev...
